Wicosuta offers extensive land, field and watersports programs, as well as a wide variety of additional activities such as tennis, aquatics, arts, drama, dance and "Wico Extreme," our outdoor adventure program. Find out more about each of our programs by clicking on its link on the left. The overall program is designed to enable every girl to feel successful. Girls may express their individual artistic interests in ceramics, arts and crafts, fine arts, dance and theatrical productions. Other popular activities include archery, fitness, aerobics, cooking, nature, gymnastics, outdoor camping and hiking. Having over 30 different activities gives each girl the chance to explore new challenges and specialize in the activities she enjoys most. We emphasize instruction and participation in each activity area. At Wico, there are no tryouts or "A" and "B" teams. Girls who are interested may participate in inter-camp tournaments and play days throughout the summer. We believe in a well-rounded program that provides opportunities to increase existing skills as well as try new activities. Campers who have completed grades 1-3 have a set program that exposes them to all our activities. Campers finishing grade 4 have a mixture of pre-scheduled and elective activities. They are required to swim every day, play tennis twice a week, and go to the waterfront twice a week. The rest of their activities are based on their preferences. Girls finishing grades 5 and older have an individual, choice-based program. Campers participate in choice-based activities with other campers of similar ages and are able to change their individual schedules if they would like. The last period of the day, called "Selective," allows ALL campers a chance to choose their last activity of the day. |
