Random Acts of Kindness Day

February can feel a long way from summer, but at Wicosuta the values that define camp are always close at heart. on February 17th is a perfect reminder of something we see play out every day at camp: small acts of kindness have the power to shape experiences, relationships, and growth.

At Wico, kindness isn’t random—it’s part of who we are, and it brings our 3 Cs—Confidence, Competence, and Community—to life all summer long (and well beyond).

Confidence: Kindness Gives Campers a Boost

Confidence often grows in the moments between the big wins. A bunkmate cheering after a missed stunt in gym or cheer. A friend offering encouragement before a first attempt at the rock wall. Teammates rallying together after a unifying moment.

Those small acts of kindness help us take chances, try again, and believe in ourselves. And when campers are the ones offering encouragement? That confidence grows even stronger.

Competence: Learning Is Better Together

At Wicosuta, learning happens everywhere—on the courts, in the water, on the stage, and in the cabin. Whether it’s helping a friend stick a new stunt, master a serve, or make the right pass, kindness plays a big role in building real competence.

Being capable at Wico isn’t just about individual skills. It’s about patience, teamwork, and learning how to support others along the way.

Community: Kindness Is What Makes Wico Feel Like Home

What truly sets Wico apart is the sense of community. Kindness turns cabins into families and camp into a place where everyone belongs. Inviting someone new to join an activity, celebrating each other’s successes, or offering support on a hard day—these are the moments that create lasting connections.

Random Acts of Kindness Day reminds us that community is built one thoughtful choice at a time.

Pay It Forward This February

This month, we invite our campers, families, and alumni to pay it forward and take part in Random Acts of Kindness—Wico style. Write a note to a friend, help out at home without being asked, cheer someone on, or reach out to someone who could use a little extra kindness.

Because when kindness spreads, so does the Wico spirit.

At Wicosuta, kindness isn’t just something we practice—it’s something we live. And it’s one of the many ways our 3 Cs shine, every single day.
