Winter at Wico: Exciting Updates and What’s New for Summer 2025!
As the temperature drops and winter settles in, the Wico spirit remains as vibrant as ever. While camp may be quiet for now, behind the scenes, we’re hard at work preparing for another unforgettable summer. We’re thrilled to share some of the exciting projects and improvements happening at this year!
Facilities:
We’re always looking for ways to enhance the camp experience, and this year is no exception! Shawn and his maintenance team are busy up at camp painting bunks 11, 12, and 13 and updating bathrooms in bunks 9, 14, and 15! Other areas around camp getting a facelift include the art barn and the ski boats ! There will also be new seating and landscaping near the Bungalow for Summer 2025! We can’t wait to see everything finished.
Fresh Programming and Activities:
We’re always listening to camper feedback and brainstorming new ways to make each summer better than the last. For 2025, there will be some new special events (top secret until later notice), new selective choices, packing day will look a little different, new carnival activities and more! Every summer, we aim to balance our program with everything that makes the Wico traditions so special and evolve to make our program the most engaging it can be. Our 105th Summer may be the best one yet!
Leadership Programs with a Twist:
Our older campers, especially Agawans, Zunis, and Totems, will find even more opportunities to grow as leaders this summer. In addition to our new special events, our campers entering grades 7 to 9 will engage in mentorship activities and personalized leadership opportunities to help leave their mark on the Wico community. One of our favorite camp traditions, our camp sister program, was revamped for Summer 2025! Our upper camp campers have the opportunity to choose the age group they believe they are best suited to mentor. This will increase the engagement between our bigs and littles and allow for unique bonds to form, creating lifelong memories for both mentors and mentees. In addition, we are making improvements to Project Morry Day and the Zuni involvement in our end of session banquet, both opportunities our campers look forward to.
The countdown to camp is officially on, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to your summer home.
